Commissions

Thank you for your interest in my work. Here I explain a bit more about how my commission process works.

1. Size

The first thing is to decide the best size canvas for your art piece. If you are unsure about the perfect size for your space, I’m happy to help you decide.

2. Inspiration

I appreciate any inspiration you can provide - which particular paintings/style of mine you like (take a look at my Instagram for inspiration), any photographs/landscapes/locations you would like me to work from, Pinterest boards or colour palettes, etc. The more you give me to work with the better! I am happy to meet in person if you are local or speak on the phone to discuss this in detail.

3. Compositional Sketches

I will start with a few small paint sketches for your piece to make sure we are thinking the same way.  After you decide on your favourite composition we finalise the commission by putting together a simple contract that states the terms (pricing, timeline).

At this point I require a non-refundable 50% deposit upfront to cover my supplies and the time I have spent. I usually allow 6-8 weeks for the completion of each piece after we have signed the contract (possibly longer if there are seasonal holidays during that time). Please let me know from the start if you need the painting for a particularly date, as this can often be accomodated.

4. Prices

My prices for commissions are based on size. Compared to paintings on my website which are ready to ship, they run about 15% more to account for the time spent putting together an art piece that meets all of your custom wishes.

5. Completion

Often I work on 2-3 paintings that are similar but often have different energies. You can then choose which you like best. Once I have completed the picture(s) I will send you some photographs. When you are happy with the end piece you will pay the remaining balance, plus shipping, and your painting will be sent off to join you in your beautiful home!
Everyone I have worked with has loved their final piece. However, if you don't LOVE the final piece you don't have to complete the purchase by paying the final 50%.
